I really like your use of images to evoke emotion in your audience. I'm new to Buddhist thought, and have been reading Buddha and Jesus by R. E. Sherman (http://www.buddha-christ.info). He believes that Buddha would have been exposed to and may have been influenced by Solomon's proverbs. Perhaps East and West are closer than we think?
Thanks D.H. James. I don't know much about Buddhist Thought or Solomon. But Sitting Zazen and reading Master Dogen's Shobogenzo might be a good place to start.
