Well, I got the new batch of 1.8s’ roughed out. They still need some finishing but they are all playable now.. I used 1" PVC this time that makes them play faster, but there is a trade off. The second register is sketchy in the high notes, re, chi and ri. you can get them but it takes an alternate fingering (this flaw is highlighted towards the end of the vid) and the third register, fugidaboudit! Next time I will stick to 3/4" pipe, that seems to work better for 1.8s’.
They should be good for an entry level person, and if someone is serious enough to get to the level where that becomes important, (took me a couple of years, I'm slow) I will make them another.
