Song of freedom breakdown, line 3

Not struggling against delusion
or grasping after the truth.

Who grasps at delusion and truth?

What is delusion and truth?

When is there delusion and truth?

Where is delusion and truth?

Why is there delusion and truth?

How do we know what is delusion and truth?

We will continue to grasp at delusion and truth as long as we think in terms of delusion and truth.

Delusion and truth are inseparable. Like two sides of a coin.

There is delusion in truth and truth in delusion. There is truth in truth and delusion in delusion.

There is delusion and truth when we know delusion and truth and there is delusion and truth when we do not know delusion and truth.

There is delusion and truth because we are conditioned to think in dualistic terms.

When we cease thinking in dualistic terms we can open up to reality.

I know that you know all of this already.

I welcome comments, but I may integrate them into the commentary.

I hope that my efforts are helpful in clearing my own delusion as well as that of others.
Jordan

Aside: some of this sounds corny even to me, but I can not seem to get around that right now. Being corny dose not keep it from being real.

Hello Jordan,
Very Interesting. When I read the 3rd line, I felt one way about it. Then when you broke it down it like this
"Delusion and truth are inseparable. Like two sides of a coin. There is delusion in truth and truth in delusion. There is truth in truth and delusion in delusion. There is delusion and truth when we know delusion and truth and there is delusion and truth when we do not know delusion and truth."

it made me interpret this line in a totally different way. I feel it is pointing to the the Absolute and Relative. According to the Buddha, There are two truths, that truth is relative and that this the absolute truth. Hmmmm.
Within the relative the absolute is present and within the absolute the relative is manifested. Or as you might put it: Absolute and Relative are inseperable. They are two sides of a coin. There is the relative in the Absolute and the Absolute in the Relative, etc,etc...
This sounds earily familiar to me. I have sat with this for awhile, Form and Emptiness.

Mike, thank you for posting Perfect wisdom. I agree that the author speaks authoritatively.

Thank you.

Jordan:
I like the two sides of a coin idea. Some see heads or tails and others see a coin. Both viewpoints are accurate.

Yamakoa:
I've been contemplating that a little - there were nuances that I wasn't certain about - but in the end I think he is accurate. But it doesn't matter. Words are words. Reality is reality.

Jordan, thank you so much for your efforts.

Delusion and truth seem ungraspable. Example - experience the pain in my back (true), as soon as my attention lands on it, it changes (original thought of pain now a delusion). I notice how there is truth in the experience of delusion and delusion in the experience of truth. Yet the more I chase delusion and truth the slippery it gets. Neither can be pinned down. This is the nature of truth and delusion.

Thank you for sharing. I hope you don't think it to forward that I post a comment here. My understanding has moved just a little.

Yamakoa,
I am not so sure about Absolute truths.

I love the heart sutra.

Thank you for your comments.

Mikedoe,
I had a dream about zombies last night. For some reason I think it is related to you. I had no fear even as they were biting my head open. Really really bizarre there were a few people (myself included) fighting them off with light sabers and everything. I am totally clueless on this dream.

Will,

Welcome, and thank you for your comments.

May all be well and happy
Jordan

Thanks for looking!
