Nooooooooooooo, it's Snowzilla! Run Forest, ruuuun!

Great picture!

Great!

We've had a lot of snow in Seattle - four more inches at our house last night. The car hasn't moved for a week.

And, of course, the heater failed on Friday night when it was 17 degrees F. Fortunately, the gas fireplace can heat the house...whew!

Wait til you go out.

Ice everywhere. Hidden.

Not as bad as a few years ago, but I'm just procastinatin' here (post zazen) waiting to attack the snow/ice.

Debating: salt or not?

The cheap construction of the neighborhood means salt will truly dissolve the cement, if used profusely.

OTOH, I do want to get out this week.

What I would do for a little snowzilla!

Oh well that is the way life goes. When I can find a wait to construct a sweatzilla, I will send you a pic.

Stay warm,
"Y"

John,
Thanks!
Paradise is wherever I am.
Happy Holidays to you too!

Uku,

Thanks!

Barry,

Hope you stay warm and safe.

The good news is that the snow is high enough to have sealed up the opening where the garage door dose not close up so well.

Mumon,

I have been out a few times. It is frightening watching people try to drive that don't understand the principals of driving on ice and snow.

Please don't salt unless you absolutely must. I suspect this will all be gone in a couple of days.
And if it is not then you still have salt.

I hope that, is not your dog you left outside over night!

Buddha,

Hope is not a method. It is not my dog.

Mike,

I heard lime juice is good for that.

Jordan,

I vote you bring back your old picture of you & tortoise, or some such similar, for your profile photo. I've got enough on my plate endeavoring to free myself without being told to free Burma every time I look at my own blog.

All the best,

Mike

SlowZen said...

Mike, the Tortoise picture was a bit out of date. I have updated it with something from this year.

Keeping on,
Jordan

Mike Cross said...

Thanks, Jordan.

The problem now, though, is that the words and the photo don't seem to match -- you don't look very zealous or asura-like, more like an old softie.

All the best,

Mike

SlowZen said...

Ah, I see.

But I do not see that as a problem.

Warm regards,
Jordan

As long as you are happy with it...

Speaking of happiness, a friend sent me this link today. Thought I would share it with your good self.

Further inspiration, if any were needed, to keep on keeping on.

Hi Mike,

I am sure inspiration should be shared like the rhino-virus.
But the link did not seem to make it.

Boo!

Please try again!

Thanks,
Jordan

Nice stuff. How did you create that? Better than any snow man I ever built.

SlowZen said...

Hey Greg, Mostly I just took the picture and uploaded it to the blog. But the Snowzilla was made with snow, tap water, and a pumpkin stem for his eye.

Take care,
Jordan

Here goes again, Jordan, in the non-sectarian spirit.

Never give up!

Mike,
It appears that the BBC has made happiness inaccessible outside of the UK. How sad!

Thanks for your efforts anyway.

Would you mind summing up what the program said?

Thanks,

Jordan

Mike Cross said...

Hi Jordan,

The programme was an interview on BBC World Service with the French monk Matthieu Ricard, who wrote a book on how to be happy.

He began by linking happiness to having a sense of direction in life -- so I was on side from the beginning. I can relate to that very well.

Besides which he obviously has a good sense of humour.

Here is a link to a newspaper interview with him.

Meet Mr Happy

All the best,

Mike

Mike,
Yes, Mr. Happy seems to have the right stuff.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for looking!
